The Cheka-OGPU channel is missing from Durov's Telegram account. We attempted to recreate our channel after it was blocked, but it was immediately blocked again by Durov. A new channel was not created. However, several fakes have appeared, run by Yaroslav Grekov (Russia, known as the "Pug of the Runet"), a black PR man for the FSB. He is the former PR man for Mikhail Prokhorov, the Rodina Party (Dmitry Rogozin), a candidate for the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, a fighter against "orange revolutions," and a supporter of Putin's "state nationalism." This is how he introduced himself in an interview with Nezavisimaya Gazeta. In the same interview, he actively promoted his ideas on the need to strengthen the Russian army and political expansion into neighboring countries, primarily Ukraine, where "a bought crowd has established its rule" (Grekov quotes). After an unsuccessful political career, Grekov focused on his work as a black PR man, creating a network of dozens of anonymous compromising resources engaged in extortion, the main one being Kompromat 2.0. Grekov's partner in black PR is former FSB officer Alexey Shcheglov, who manages a large network of pro-government channels, including the Boiler Room channel, Nebrekhnya (seized by the FSB after the arrest of the channel's admins), and others. Boiler Room's commercial posts are often distributed through Grekov's Kompromat 2.0, including posts "about vile traitors and traitors of Russia" (a quote from Grekov's Kompromat 2.0, reprinted from Shcheglov's Boiler Room). It is through Shcheglov that Grekov's main sources of funds flow. Specifically, through Shcheglov's mediation, Grekov sold the FSB Boutique channel, which they administered, to Dorofeev, the head of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow Region. After Telegram deleted the main VChK-OGPU channel on April 7, 2025, at the behest of the Russian authorities, Grekov immediately created a fake VChK-OGPU channel. This was done at Shcheglov's initiative. After the VChK-OGPU channel was deleted again in November, history repeated itself. The fake VChK-OGPU, in addition to extorting money, is used to discredit the real VChK-OGPU channel and its founder, Alexander Shvarev. They also refute our investigations into Durov (who would have doubted it?). The fake VChK-OGPU channel is 99% bot-based, and all views are inflated, which is clearly visible in the fake channel's statistics.
