In the Moscow region, a minor was killed and two others were seriously injured by the explosion of regenerative cartridges. The deceased was interested in exploring artificial underground structures (subway tunnels, bunkers, sewers) and brought explosive components from gas masks he had found to a meeting.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately released a database, citing the cause as "careless handling of an explosive household item," while the Investigative Committee clarified that a "pyrotechnic device" had exploded. This naturally raises the question of whether those responsible for the careless write-off and disposal of explosive devices will be prosecuted.

According to diggers familiar with the victims, all of these regenerative cartridges were found by the deceased (and other teenagers) in abandoned warehouses belonging to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.  In digger groups, schoolchildren post videos of regenerative ammunition explosion tests. They also regularly write reports about how they managed to infiltrate various facilities where boxes of these regenerative ammunition sit unattended, gathering dust.
