As VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info have discovered, Denis Alimov, a Russian citizen detained in Colombia at the request of the United States, was an employee of the FSB Special Purpose Center several years ago. The United States believes he is involved in terrorist activities and the preparation of the kidnapping or murder of "prominent individuals" in Europe.

According to leaked documents, Alimov served in military unit 35690—the FSB Special Purpose Center, the base of the Vympel special forces unit—until at least 2022. Alimov's call sign was "Aryan," and judging by his interests, he was involved in underwater operations.

Colombian authorities detained Denis Alimov at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá on charges of conspiracy and financing terrorist acts. He arrived in Colombia on a Turkish Airlines flight. Alimov is wanted by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, which issued a warrant for his arrest on December 18.

The US believes that Alimov participated in a conspiracy to murder or kidnap two individuals "well-known in Europe" from October 2024 to March 2025. Alimov provided technical information and recruited others for the operation. The indictment alleges that he wired approximately $60,000 to the perpetrators. This was an advance payment. The total fee for each victim was $1.5 million. One of the accomplices was arrested in March 2025 in New York.
