A source for VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info revealed that Vladimir Putin has his own "General Vlasik." This role is filled by the current First Deputy Director of the FSO, General Oleg Klimentyev. Notably, at one point, he even lived at Stalin's infamous dacha in Kuntsevo.
According to the source, Oleg Klimentyev served in the Leningrad branch of the KGB’s 9th Directorate (responsible for protecting the country's top leaders) and trained at the KGB’s School No. 401. One version suggests that Klimentyev met Putin back in the Soviet era. Other accounts indicate the meeting occurred somewhat later, when Klimentyev was working as a bodyguard for Anatoly Sobchak. In any case, they have been together for over 35 years. When Klimentyev moved to Moscow following Putin, he reportedly took up residence at Stalin's "Near Dacha" in Kuntsevo. This site remains a restricted FSO facility; at least during the 1990s and early 2000s, the annex still contained living quarters—originally used by Stalin's staff and security—where Klimentyev also lived. However, investigative journalists discovered that in 2014, Klimentyev’s family acquired a mansion in the gated community of "Rechnoye" on the Rublevo-Uspenskoye Highway in the Moscow region.
For a long time, Klimentyev served as Putin's personal bodyguard; he later headed the Presidential Security Service of the Russian Federation before becoming the First Deputy Director of the FSO. According to a source, Klimentyev remains responsible for Putin’s security in this role, though the scope of his duties has expanded. He is the one who, over the years, has selected the bodyguards accompanying the president; notably, Dmitry Mironov is one of his protégés.
"The president offered him other positions, but Klimentyev believes his mission is Putin’s security. He lives and breathes it. Of course, he doesn't go on every single trip anymore. But when Putin arrives in St. Petersburg, for instance, Klimentyev is invariably there waiting for him. They have an extremely close relationship; Klimentyev has access to Putin at practically any time of day or night. He can indeed be compared to Vlasik," the source told VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info.
