As it turns out, the primary business of CSKA President Evgeny Giner is high-level "fixer" work—specifically, brokering deals with his close friend, Rostec head Sergey Chemezov. This is revealed in leaked correspondence involving Giner, which was reviewed by VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info.
In one instance, Sergey Chemezov personally invites Giner to a private event. He writes that he will be waiting for guests on the 58th floor, while young women wearing a specific identifier—special brooches—will greet them in the foyer. Chemezov also shares photos with Giner from a fishing trip they took together and a picture of himself taking an icy dip in an ice-hole.
Elsewhere, former Samara Region Governor Dmitry Azarov thanks Giner for helping him secure a position at Rostec through Chemezov.
Then there is a message from a figure in the criminal underworld (and there are many such people in Giner’s circle) sharing grim news: a motorboat capsized on the Pirogovo Reservoir. On board were Viktor Averin—a leader of the Solntsevo organized crime group (who died)—and Vladimir Putin’s former classmate Viktor Khmarin (who ended up in intensive care). The contact shares photos of the capsized boat and of Khmarin at a picnic just before the accident.
This same contact forwards a message to Giner from a certain Kazbek, who had received the request from someone else and asked for it to be passed on to Giner.
The person asks Giner to speak with "Ch." to see if he can at least help with the "houses and cars that were taken away from the family." The unidentified sender also asks Giner to get in touch with influential businessman Timur Kurgin, who is "friends with A.S.S."
It is hard to say exactly who is being referred to, though one can make an educated guess. The correspondence dates to the period immediately following the arrest of Yuri Kozarenko—CEO of the drone developer "Transport of the Future" and a former aide to the Samara Region governor. "Ch." is, by all appearances, Chemezov. Incidentally, he once served as the honorary president of Kurgin’s "Boxing Academy." Also implicated is Sergei Alpatov, the then-head of the FSB’s Economic Security Service (SEB), whose department handled all operations concerning the drone suppliers. Giner, too, is linked to UAV supplies—though that is a story for another time.
It is worth noting that a vast number of those who turn to Giner do so to ask him to resolve various issues with Chemezov.
