According to the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, a Moscow court has arrested Igor Mikhnov, the owner of one of Russia's largest fishing companies (the third-largest in crab production). Mikhnov's companies have recently been promoting frozen crab on the Chinese market.

 

On Thursday evening, by court order, Igor Mikhnov was remanded in custody for two months. He is charged with embezzlement by fraud. Earlier, searches were conducted at the Antey Group offices in Vladivostok, and Mikhnov was detained and sent to Moscow.

 

Igor Mikhnov is the primary owner of the Vladivostok-based Antey Group, which harvests and processes crab and fish. It owns over 50 vessels that fish in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk, the Bering Sea, the Sea of ​​Japan, and the Barents Sea. Mikhnov's partner is Arkady Pinchevsky, who previously chaired the board of directors of the Moscow-based Kristall vodka distillery and served as vice governor of the Sakhalin Region.

 

In recent years, Mikhnev has frequently visited China and spoken extensively about promoting frozen crab in the Chinese market.
