A source for the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info reported the arrest of two Moscow schoolchildren who were plotting a mass murder at Moscow School No. 17. They imitated the infamous "Columbiners," planned the crime down to the smallest detail, practiced, and even wrote a manifesto. The teenagers discussed their plans through Telegram messages, and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) somehow found out about this. Incidentally, their arrest was one of the reasons Roskomnadzor blocked Roblox. The boys conducted virtual shooting training exercises on this platform.
According to the source, the two teenagers—14-year-old Maxim and 13-year-old Ivan (the father of one of them, incidentally, works for the State Courier Service)—had been planning an armed attack on School No. 17 on Vvedensky Street in Moscow for several months. They were fans of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold (two Columbine High School students who killed 13 people (12 students and one teacher), wounded 24 more, and then committed suicide) and also planned to shoot students and teachers.
They drew up a detailed plan of the school, took photographs of emergency exits and security cameras, and calculated all possible routes. The day before, the students purchased Columbine T-shirts and all the necessary Molotov cocktails, made them, and tested arson attacks in deserted areas.
Near the school building, Maxim and Ivan recorded a video manifesto about the "imminent deaths" of the students and teachers—they planned to post this video on Telegram right before the attack. In Telegram messages, they discussed methods of action and attack scenarios, and in Roblox, they simulated a mass shooting, including a re-enactment of the tragedy in Kazan (in May 2021, student Ilnaz Galyaviyev killed nine people (seven children and two adults) and wounded 24 at Kazan Gymnasium No. 175).
The grandfather of one of the teenagers had a firearm—they planned to use it at school. Maxim had previously visited a shooting range and was familiar with firearms. The students practiced with an air rifle. After the attack, both planned to commit suicide.
