The Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info have highlighted the staff turnover in Russian Railways' procurement directorate after its employees were sentenced to lengthy prison terms.

The information about Irina Mitichkina, the long-time director of the Central Directorate of Procurement and Supply, has been removed from the state corporation's website. Now, according to information on the official website, her position has been filled by Artem Ryazantsev, who was previously subject to administrative liability by the Federal Antimonopoly Service and narrowly escaped criminal prosecution.

The change in the state corporation's managers occurred amid a high-profile scandal. Recently, Mitichkina's subordinates—First Deputy Head of Procurement Alexey Savchenko and Deputy Head of a Department Oleg Kirillov—were each sentenced to 8.5 years in prison and fines for accepting bribes.

Irina Mitichkina was one of the last protégés of former Russian Railways CEO Vladimir Yakunin at the joint-stock company, and the key position she held for so long speaks for itself. Rumor has it that the former boss now faces criminal charges as well.
