After the publications of the VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info about what is happening at the Faculty of Management and Politics of MGIMO at the behest and under the leadership of Dean Henry Sardaryan, new events have occurred that are of public interest.
As sources said, Henry has not stopped taking money from applicants' parents, but now, for the sake of his own peace of mind, the dean has begun to give a much larger share to the corrupt security officials who patronize him. These security officials are abundantly assigned to MGIMO in various forms and shapes. According to the source, in June, unfed security officials began quietly checking the lists of those admitted over the past 8 years, and several dozen names raise suspicions from the point of view of the legality of enrollment. After the revelations of the VChK-OGPU, Sardaryan himself, as it became known from a source in his circle, wants to change all the heads of departments of the Faculty of Management and Politics under various pretexts during the next academic year, because he suspects them of leaking incriminating information on him. In addition, the June posts and publications made some of the people mentioned by name and position seriously nervous. As a result, some of them lost their nerve. Thus, one of Sardaryan's deputies says that she is ready to testify against the dean, his other deputies, several heads of departments and teachers of the faculty involved in bribery during admission to master's programs (on the condition that she herself will not be asked about bribes for such cooperation). The clouds are gathering not only over Sardaryan. Rector Torkunov, whom Genri Sardaryan loves to make fun of behind his back, recently celebrated his 75th birthday. He should have resigned 5 years ago, but his term of office was extended by a special decision at the very top. Despite the colossal connections of the long-time rector of MGIMO, discontent has long been growing in the Presidential Administration and security agencies, and the presentation of orders is no longer an indulgence. The story with Kobaladze is still fresh in the memory - the deputy dean of the faculty of journalism invited Ivan Urgant, now in disgrace, to a meeting with students. As a result, Kobaladze had to resign, although everyone at MGIMO knows that he and Torkunov have been friends since their student years. At MGIMO, they know how to dump friends as soon as they become inconvenient. For a couple of years now, there have been periodic conversations in the corridors of power about the need to renew the forge of personnel for Russian diplomacy (and intelligence), Torkunov's inability to control the university, questionable personnel policy and the obvious inability of the rector to drive corruption into any acceptable (less noticeable) framework. And all this against the backdrop of the obvious degradation of education at MGIMO, whose students and graduates have long looked frankly pale against the backdrop of other top Russian universities, not to mention foreign ones. Every year, the level of proficiency in foreign languages is falling - something that MGIMO has always been proud of (read about bribes at the English Department No. 6 in the June publications). As a result, high-status parents, by hook or by crook, are increasingly trying to send their children straight to study in the damned West, no matter how much they themselves scold it from official platforms. And the SVO, along with sanctions and patriotic frenzy, as it turns out, is not an obstacle for people with money and connections in this matter.
Torkunov may be sent into honorable retirement, and Dean Sardaryan, some vice-rectors and corrupt professors may even be sent to pretrial detention. An outsider will be appointed to the post of rector. By the way, Sardaryan's friend Timur Prokopenko from the AP's internal policy department is unlikely to be able to help now, because the clouds have gathered over him. As the VChK-OGPU has learned, behind the scenes of the Russian Presidential Administration they are actively discussing that Timur Prokopenko may be fired from the AP in the very near future. He will be transferred to a public position.
According to sources, there are several reasons for this. The first is that in 10 years Prokopenko has failed to join Kiriyenko's team, and he is still considered Volodin's man. The second is that he has a personal conflict with his immediate superior, Yarin, and the latter is tired of it. Today Yarin has a very serious apparatus weight and Kiriyenko's personal trust, so Prokopenko lost here. The third is that he has no significant achievements at work, and this has become noticeable now.
