A Wildberries warehouse employee in Elektrostal told the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info about the working conditions of women from North Korea, who were "brought" en masse to the facility:
"At first, we thought they were North Korean prisoners brought in for work. These women are marched everywhere, escorted by men from the same country. They also all live together and are not allowed to go outside. Communication with them is not allowed. Then it turned out they weren't criminals... I know they are paid only 3,500 rubles per shift, while the standard wage is now 7,000-10,000 rubles. Meanwhile, Wildberries is extremely pleased with this "savings" and is threatening to increase the number of North Korean workers."
It's worth noting that North Korea has a practice whereby up to 90% of the earnings of citizens sent to work abroad is seized by the state and placed into "loyalty funds." This means that sending workers to Russia also serves to replenish the North Korean state budget.
As a reminder, in February and spring 2025, it was reported that female workers from North Korea had begun to be imported to work at Wildberries warehouses in the Moscow and Ryazan regions.
