The Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info have learned of the difficulties of SVR officer Anton Panov, who committed suicide at the Russian embassy in Cyprus. Anton and his wife, Natalia, invested a large sum in the purchase of a property at the initial stage of construction in one of the KSK development projects in Crimea. However, nothing was built by the promised deadline in 2018. In 2019, Nikolai Shalimo, co-owner of the KSK group of companies, was sent to pretrial detention on fraud charges. As a result, the Panovs still have not received their property, and recently wrote on forums that "we were robbed" and "we need to write about it on TV."
Meanwhile, in the relevant chats, one can find evidence that Anton Panov placed numerous bets on the results of football matches and other sporting events almost daily. Such expenses require significant funding, and where cryptographer Panov got it is a big question. It's worth noting that just before Panov's suicide, former Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner disappeared in Cyprus. Our project has discovered that Baumgertner is friends with the Russian ambassador to Cyprus and has visited the embassy several times and communicated with its staff.
There's another interesting detail to the suicide story. According to Cypriot media reports, Panov's body was discovered on January 8. We also discovered that someone accessed Panov's Telegram account on January 9.
