Aidamir Valiyev, a regular subject of publications by the VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, former FSB officer, and assistant to the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, has decided to also become a distinguished military leader. According to our sources, he is lobbying Plenipotentiary Envoy Yuri Chaika to unite three battalions from the North Caucasus under his leadership (which local officials with problems with law enforcement are fond of joining). The decision could have been made as early as yesterday at the February 23rd celebratory banquet, for which a "heroic" video was prepared using AI.
Our project previously reported that Valiyev was recommended to Chaika by Ingush businessman Bashir Kushtov, who is close to the Plenipotentiary Envoy and his sons and has ties to their family business.
In 2023, Kushtov was convicted as an intermediary in the transfer of funds to Sergei Bespalov, a former employee of the 2nd Service, former deputy head of the 4th Service, and later an FSB officer, and Yevgeny Sviridov, a former detective in the 3rd Department of the Economic Security Service of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow Region. They were accused of accepting $23 million in bribes, both in cash in Moscow and into specified accounts in Dubai.
Before joining Chaika, Valiev served in the FSB, made numerous connections, and then went to work for one of the Moscow firms of Viktor Nauryzov, the owner of the Resource agricultural enterprise (GAP). Valiev's responsibilities included resolving Nauryzov's problems with the security forces and funneling money out of the country through channels he had created with his fellow "Chekist" associates. When Valiyev left Nauryzov's structures, he left behind a close friend, former FSB officer for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Colonel Dmitry Vasilchenko. Now, with the help of Valiyev and Chaika, he holds the post of Chief Federal Inspector for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
According to Chaika's source, Valiyev also continues to mentor Nauryzov, especially since the latter owns numerous agricultural enterprises, broiler farms, and other similar businesses in the North Caucasus Federal District. And Valiyev's workload is growing daily. As our project has previously reported, GAP Resurs has enormous debts, and its businesses are swamped with lawsuits. Meanwhile, Nauryzov himself is "sitting on his suitcases."
However, Valiyev's main task in his position at the Plenipotentiary Representative's Office is to help implement the Chaika family's corruption schemes.
The Chaika family's primary business interests (the Plenipotentiary Representative and his two sons, Igor and Artem) are in the North Caucasus Federal District, where the federal government is actively implementing multi-billion-dollar projects to reclaim solid municipal waste (MSW) landfills in the regions that comprise the district.
This explains why Yuri Chaika needed Valiyev as his subordinate, as he is directly involved in corruptly covering up business in the district under the official pretext of fulfilling his official duties at the Plenipotentiary Representative's Office and in the North Caucasus Federal District.
Last year, rumors began circulating that Valiyev was overly active in this activity and had come under scrutiny by the security forces. Therefore, his FSB handlers advised him to stay "closer to the SVO." And already at the beginning of this year, it was revealed that Valiyev had become the curator of the Erzi Battalion, created in Ingushetia to participate in the war. This battalion, like the Dombai (Karachay-Cherkessia) and Elbrus (Karabakh) battalions, is part of the Terek Brigade (North Caucasus Federal District), which Chaika personally oversees.
According to a source at the VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, Chaika recently received a letter from Terek representatives (organized by Valiev himself) requesting that he merge Erzi, Dombai, and Elbrus and place Valiev in command of the new combined battalion. Despite the fact that these three units are called battalions, they number approximately 45 fighters. However, these are all "golden fighters," as the battalions are privileged. Officials, businessmen, and the children of officials enlist. Some do so to avoid the scrutiny of law enforcement. Others do so to gain a desirable "ticket" in their biography. For example, participation in the SVO is a major plus when considering candidates for the presidential personnel reserve. Obviously, none of them take part in actual combat.
A source says the fate of the battalion merger could have been decided as early as yesterday at the banquet organized by Chaika to celebrate February 23rd. A video was even produced for the celebration, showing senior staff members of the presidential envoy's office, including Chaika and Valiev, posing in Caucasian national dress against a backdrop of mountains and beautiful landscapes created using AI.
