A curious incident involving FSO security at the banquet of the Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) Alexander Chaiko at Balzi Rossi, during which a female suicide bomber detonated a bomb. It appears the FSO officers were "working" unofficially that day.
As previously reported by VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, during the banquet, the unmistakable FSO "coffin" SUVs were parked around the entire perimeter of the high-rise building on Kudrinskaya Street. The arriving VIPs had their own security detail, and these "coffins" were responsible for the security of the event. A man emerged from such a vehicle and stopped a courier carrying a bomb-shaped box. Apparently, the deceased "guard" was an FSO officer. However, sources noted that many attributes indicated that the special service officers were on duty unofficially. Which seems very likely. All of these coffin-like vehicles are used to provide security for the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "President Hotel" (a facility protected by the Federal Protective Service). This Federal State Unitary Enterprise is managed by Sergei Sushkov. He is the son of Anatoly Sushkov, a colleague and good friend of Alexander Chaiko. The elder Sushkov was present at the event.
A source for the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info reported that all guests at General Chaiko's event, who were in the Balzi Rossi hall, were unharmed. Those injured and killed were those on the summer veranda, including relatives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces.
The explosion occurred as guests were just arriving. A cover band was warming them up in the hall; due to the music, many did not even realize what had happened. Everyone in the hall was unharmed.
A female courier carrying a bomb hidden in a gift box was heading toward the veranda at 8:00 PM when a car with flashing lights pulled up. An FSO officer stopped her, and an explosion occurred. Guests and Balzi Rossi employees who were on the veranda were injured. Some had just arrived, while others had gone out for a smoke or were simply standing outside. About 20 people in total were injured. The courier and the FSO officer died instantly. A guest of the event, who had arrived with her sister and her sister's husband, also died before the ambulance arrived. The latter two were also seriously injured; eyewitnesses described them as covered in black soot. The man carried his wife out of the scene in his arms.
Since the bomb contained ball-shaped fragments, everyone on the veranda sustained injuries of varying degrees. Among them were Chayko's daughter, Maria, and her 27-year-old husband, Daniil Peredriy. He played professional hockey as a child, graduated from the Spartak Youth Sports School, and played for the youth teams of that club and the Russian Knights. Daniil recently played for amateur teams. According to some reports, Peredriy died in the hospital from his injuries.
Stills from the wedding of Maria Chayko and Daniil Peredriy, which took place in the summer of 2025. Many of the wedding guests also attended yesterday's 55th birthday celebration of General Alexander Chayko. Maria and Daniil were seriously injured in the explosion, as they were on the summer veranda. According to some reports, Daniil died in the hospital.
