Putin has finally appointed Alexey Shipilov, a regular figure in the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, as Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court. Shipilov has long since turned the court into a self-financing department. And now a new scandal is catching up with him.
As our project has learned, Shipilov's personal friend, Denis Yakimchik, Chairman of the Belorechensky District Court (and a former candidate for Chairman of the Tuapse District Court), organized the illegal extraction of gravel and sand in the district.
Yakimchik, Krasnodar Sovetsky District Court Judge Ovdienko, and the two Gromov brothers (one of whom is the deputy chief of operations at the Belorechensky District Department of Internal Affairs) acquired five agricultural land plots of 10 hectares each in the Belorechensky District, along with equipment and, without any permits, began mining hundreds of millions of rubles' worth of GPS on an industrial scale.
This group of judges and law enforcement officials also provided protection to other illegal miners in exchange for a percentage of the profits.
A case has been opened under Article 171 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal entrepreneurship). Zorik Gromov, the brother of Georgy Gromov, deputy chief of the Belorechensky District Department of Internal Affairs, has been remanded in custody.
The materials regarding the judges and the police officer are being held by the local Investigative Committee of Russia, which is conducting a pre-trial investigation.
And while this investigation is ongoing, one logical question arises. How much did Yakimchik bring to Alexey Shipilov, with whom he met very frequently and with whom his families were friends?
For six years, Shipilov praised and promoted Denis Yakimchik, trying to make him the chairman of the Tuapse Court.
So far, the results are as follows. Denis Yakimchik resigned on March 6.
Vladimir Ovdienko did the same.
And Alexey Shipilov was appointed chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court on March 13.
