Multiple sources speaking to VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info have reported that in the upcoming television season, *Rossiya 1*’s flagship weekly news program, *Vesti Nedeli* ("News of the Week"), will likely air without its longtime host (since 2012), Dmitry Kiselyov. He may also step down as CEO of the media group *Rossiya Segodnya*. The Russian Presidential Administration has grown dissatisfied with the man who was once a primary mouthpiece for state propaganda.
According to an insider, the Kremlin has already decided to remove Dmitry Kiselyov from his hosting duties on *Rossiya 1*. Yevgeny Popov is set to take his place for the time being, and there are plans to significantly revamp the program itself.
Sources tell VChK-OGPU that the Presidential Administration has long harbored grievances against Dmitry Kiselyov. These issues stem not only from the public's actual waning interest in *Vesti Nedeli* but also from Kiselyov’s difficult personality and his intolerance toward dissenting opinions or recommendations from administration officials. Furthermore, the source claims Kiselyov will be removed as CEO of *Rossiya Segodnya* and moved to an honorary, retirement-style position.
Dmitry Kiselyov is aware of the planned dismissal and has taken the Kremlin’s decision quite hard. "He’s been walking around 'the Pit' [Yamskoye Pole, the VGTRK headquarters] looking thunderous, saying he’s become a victim of intrigues and denunciations," the source said.
