A posthumous video of the channel's administrator has appeared on the Russian military Telegram channel "Voevoda Broadcasts." He reveals his identity as Senior Lieutenant Alexey Zemtsov (call sign Voevoda), a Ka-52 pilot, and states: "If you're watching this video, then I'm dead." He explains that he intends to commit suicide due to persecution by his command and the intention to bring charges against him for discrediting the Russian army.

According to the recording, Zemtsov initially administered the "Obsessed in War" channel and then created his own channel. When it was revealed that he was hosting Channel One, he ran into trouble with Vladimir Kravchenko, commander of the 11th Air Force and Air Defense Army and now deputy commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces, over a post alleging that Su-27 pilots were being forced to undergo drill training after combat missions. Zemtsov was suspended from flying. Zemtsov then assaulted another "Voyevoda Broadcasts" administrator, who turned out to be his wife's lover and demanded money from him. He was arrested and sent to pretrial detention. Unit commander Avramenko pulled him out under the pretext of sending him to the Air Defense Forces. While training for platoon leaders, Zemtsov posted a photo of a helmet issued to Aerospace Forces pilots—it turned out to be used and manufactured in 1968. He was forced to publish a retraction, but was still returned to his base of deployment. According to Zemtsov, the investigation against him was reopened at the instigation of Kravchenko himself. Avramenko was questioned, and he ultimately changed his tune. Previously, he had supported Zemtsov and promised to free him "with the help of special forces," but now he himself filed a complaint against him for discrediting the Russian army. Zemtsov states in the video that he does not intend to face imprisonment under this article and intends to commit suicide. "Next to the body there will be a 'black folder' with a lot of interesting information on Kravchenko," Zemtsov promises. According to him, if this video was posted on the channel, it means he is no longer alive.
