These are stills from a recent, expensive party thrown for friends by Varvara Mazaraki, the daughter-in-law of funeral magnate Lev Mazaraki, a trusted confidant of Alexei Dorofeyev, head of the FSB for Moscow and the Moscow Region, and other intelligence generals. Among the guests of honor was Liza Peskova.

"Varyusha threw a party just for the fun of it," one of the party participants wrote on social media. The venue was the Soho Rooms club, which belongs to the Mazaraki family. Varvara thanked the family for all this happiness from the stage. Enormous "troughs" hold dozens of bottles of Louis Roederer champagne from the Collection series (deliveries to Russia are prohibited under the fifth sanctions package), surrounded by ice and white roses. Black caviar is on the tables in the "troughs," alongside oysters, and so on. Banderos is on stage, singing the anthem of all those gathered, "Life Is a Good Thing." Next comes the Suvorov Military School graduate who sat next to Shoigu, now the criminalized rapper ICEGERGERT (Georgy Gergert). Yes, the same one who was recently charged with promoting an extremist organization (AUE) and whose ban Ekaterina Mizulina and State Duma deputies are demanding.

Among the prominent guests spotted is Liza Peskova. The men in expensive suits can only be seen from behind.

What are we getting at?

This party is a classic example of what's happening in Russia right now.

The authorities are organizing weekly riot police raids on ordinary Russians' clubs for indulging in "excesses" during the "SVO." Daily restrictions and prohibitions. For themselves, there are closed parties with Black Spark and sanctioned champagne.

Ordinary Russians are banned from ICEGERGERT for singing "the wrong songs," while they themselves are having a blast to them.

Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, constantly insists on television that "under the conditions of a special military operation and an 'unprecedented information war,' strict measures and restrictions are necessary," which are currently justified by the situation. Meanwhile, his daughter Liza doesn't limit herself in any way. And such a complete contrast in everything.

So, truly, "life is good." True, only for a very select few.
