The Moscow City Court press service accidentally posted an "uncut video" (published here) without the logo showing the arrest of State Duma deputy Anatoly Voronovsky. It was on the court's channel for a few minutes before being replaced with a shortened 30-second version. The list of investigative teams was cut from the video, making it clear that the case was being handled by Investigative Committee (ICR) official Roman Buravlev. This doesn't bode well for Voronovsky.
According to a source at the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, Buravlev isn't used for small-time bribes. He previously handled the case against Interior Ministry billionaire Dmitry Zakharchenko. Zakharchenko complained that officers from the FSB's Directorate M would come to his office in a pretrial detention center and demand testimony against various high-ranking officials. Buravlev also handled the case against Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Tikhonov. And history repeated itself.
Voronovsky is currently accused of accepting bribes totaling over 25 million rubles. Investigators believe this occurred in 2019–2020, when he was not yet a member of parliament, but already serving as deputy governor of the Krasnodar Territory. Investigators believe Safarbiy Napso, director of the Krasnodar Territory unitary enterprise "Dagomys Road Repair and Construction," provided him with services and property worth this amount.
However, Voronovsky is extremely close to Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, whose deputy and advisor he served for a long time. Therefore, the investigation is clearly targeting "bigger loot" than Voronovsky. And what happens next depends on corruption and political gamesmanship.
