According to footage leaked online, the "Africa Corps" is leaving cities captured by rebels in Mali. This is the inglorious end of the GRU-supervised unit, which was in fact controlled by Konstantin Mirzayants, a criminal with the Russian Geographical Society. The Cheka-OGPU and http://Rucriminal.info have calculated that he is responsible for at least seven high-profile crimes. And he has never been held accountable for any of them.
The "Africa Corps" was conceived as a replacement for the Wagner PMC in Africa, and its oversight was entrusted to GRU Deputy Chief Andrei Averyanov. However, in reality, Konstantin Mirzayants received full power within the unit. He not only managed to sideline Averyanov from making any decisions regarding the Afrika Korps but also began interfering with the activities of the GRU Special Operations Service (Averyanov's brainchild). According to a source, accusing Averyanov and his deputy, Ivan Kasyanenko, of delays and inaction in replacing the Wagner PMC in Africa, Mirzayants began giving instructions to GRU Special Operations Service officers in Africa and then luring them to his team, citing the potential for additional income and the lack of prospects for them to continue their careers under Averyanov's leadership.
According to the VChK-OGPU and http://Rucriminal.info, the Kremlin in late 2025 was dissatisfied with the failure of the Afrika Korps to become a full-fledged replacement for the Wagner PMC, primarily due to Mirzayants' lack of personal contacts in Africa. They therefore attempted to send former "arms baron" Viktor Bout to assist him. Despite his lengthy stint in an American prison, Bout retains connections in Africa, and he understands the intricacies of working on the continent. Bout has made several "voyages" across Africa, but prefers to resolve "issues" in his quiet office, located just steps from the Kremlin and Red Square, at the Four Seasons Hotel Moscow.
The outcome of all these "movements" is entirely predictable. In recent days, rebels have successfully attacked Kidal, Mopti, and Sevare, assassinated Mali's Minister of Defense, and so on. Most of these cities fell under rebel control, and the Afrika Korps "guarding" them was forced to negotiate with the rebels for an unimpeded exit.
At one time, the Cheka-OGPU and http://Rucriminal.info discovered that Mirzayants was involved in at least seven high-profile crimes. Before returning to the Ministry of Defense, he served as the head of security for Sergei Lalakin (Luchok), the leader of the Podolsk organized crime group.

Mirzayants' most notorious crime was orchestrating the bombing of Moskovsky Komsomolets journalist Dmitry Kholodov. But Mirzayants's "blacklist" doesn't end there. According to our information, Mirzayants also organized the bombing of Mikhail Likhodey, chairman of the Foundation for Disabled Veterans of the Afghan War, and two years later, a powerful explosion at his grave in Kotlyakovskoye Cemetery (14 people died and about 30 were injured). Incidentally, Lalakin (associated with the Union of Russian Paratroopers) was also scheduled to attend the cemetery, but changed his mind at the last minute. Mirzayants is also implicated in the murder of Alexander Mineyev, founder of the "Partiya" network. The perpetrator, Omar Suleimanov, was at one time Mirzayants' subordinate. Mirzayants remains a defendant in the Mineyev murder case.
For a long time, Mirzayants could regularly be found at 13 Kutuzovsky Prospekt, where he shared an office with shadow banker Yuri Zinkin (known for keeping his daughter in the Mother and Child perinatal center for six years, believing her to be "cursed"). The building housed a financial laundromat (under Luchok's control), with Zinkin responsible for finances and Mirzayants for security and forceful problem-solving. For this purpose, he had an entire "army" of armed thugs stationed on Komsomolsky Prospekt.
Then, the fate of Mirzayants, a perpetrator of violent actions, brought him into contact with the founders of the Russian Geographical Society. This "private club" of Shoigu and his friends became something like Boris Berezovsky's LogoVAZ Reception House – a venue for high-level decision-making. Putin is also involved in the activities of the Russian Geographical Society. As a result, Mirzayants' military career was revived and he became the head of the Afrika Korps.
